Jake (narration): After all that happened, cutting loose and making new friends was a much needed moment of relief. Although for me, the revelry was cut with the bitterness of knowing Mattrick still had to face the captain. There's still a lot of planning to do. We're still short on crew, and many are still sick. At leqast we have a path ahead to a safe harbor, where fresh supplies and a doctor are waiting for us.
Jake: Hey Mattrick.
Mattrick: Yeah? What can I do ya for?
Jake: I haven't seen you since the party. I just wanted to check in.
Mattrick: I'm fine. I'm just a li'l busy today.
Jake: Look, about the captain--what happened sucks and I don't like this either. I don't have any less respect for you as a pilot. Even if I'm wing leader now, I still value your advice and experience.
Mattrick: Don't worry man, we're good. You should be happy, don't let my little setback take that away from ya. Now scram, have some fun. I just need a bit of time alone.
