Jake: What was that? I've never even met a Drogahri. There's Mattrick, keeping watch. At least I can talk with someone.
Mattrick: You're up early. I've seen that face before. You've been having the dreams.
Jake: I-- saw the pilot I shot down. I didn't think about it then, but I've never killed anyone before.
Mattrick: You were trashing machines, and some slimeballs got in your way. We're pilots, it's what we do.
Jake: Killing people doesn't feel right though. How do you deal with it?
Mattrick: I dunno. I've only ever killed scalies.
Jake: They're still people though.
Mattrick: Look, I ain't Rolf. When Mika gets her first kill she'll have to deal with this too, and I need to know at least one of you is gonna have my back. So, can you still fight?
Jake: Yeah, I'm good.
Mattrick: Alright then.
