Carlos: {ugh} no matter what I do I can't get the flight data to transfer. It gets to about 70 percent and then the connection fails, every damn time. The file isn't even that big. "Unknown desync error." Guess I'm filing a report.

Tawny: I guess that her ladyship's carriage thinks it's too fancy to consort with a couple of low-caste roughnecks. You'll probably have better luck with the mutt's lancer.

Carlos: Already tried, and the bull's too, just to be sure. Same error at the same timestamp. Also, you've got something on your face.

Tawny: Great. Last thing I need is Grayson getting snippy because we didn't get him any video in time for his debrief. Send the partial file with a note about the error. We'll ahve to find the black box and figure out what's wrong with it.

Carlos: We'll have to dig pretty deep to find it, though. That nice young lady might be upset.

Tawny: {pssh} We'll have it put back together before her next sortie. And besides... right now she has bigger things to worry about, like explaining what happened on her squadron's last mission without having the data. Black box failure across three ships in the same wing doesn't happen every day. It's not impossible, but really friggin' unusual.

Carlos: You think they're hiding something?

Tawny: Maybe, but that'd take a bit more expertise than I think most pilots have.

Carlos: So, time to play detective then?

Tawny: I guess so. They'd better at least have a good story for the captain, though.
