Previously on Lancer:

The battle to escape Drogahri occupied space has been won. The FSS Ragnarok’s Herald, escorted by Lancer pilot knights Jake Marshall, Mika Fadeneir, and Bosco Mattrick broke through the blockade, and a safe destination for repair, resupply and medical aid lies ahead. Desertion rumors of the squad have been dispelled, and at least for a moment, there are no battles to fight.

However, the cost of the knights’ intervention was high. Their previous commander, Colonel Rolf Garret, remains missing. The battle exposed a gap in the team’s leadership, which resulted in Lieutenant Mattrick being reassigned from his role as wing leader, and the role was passed over to his wingmate Jake. What’s more, due to the knights’ prior narrow escape from a black hole, they experienced a phenomenon known as time dilation, which effectively caused them to skip over a year through time, while the rest of the galaxy moved forward. Time that they will never be able to reclaim.

Two years ago, before the war, before the black hole, and before meeting the Ragnarok’s Herald, a homecoming was about to take place on a seemingly unimportant colony world belonging to House Bastet. A young woman had just become the first member of her House to join the Banner Sentinels’ alliance of knights, and she had returned. This moment was for her.
